Therapy for LGBTQ+ folks
About therapy for LGBTQ+ in San Diego, CA
You are tired of wondering whether the person in front of you might be homophobic / transphobic or immersed in a hetero- / cis-normative reality. You are tired of educating others, explaining the jargon, advocating for yourself and for the community. You want to know that you are understood and accepted, no questions asked. You want to be YOU in the room, identities included, but not just your identity. You know that if you’d put this worry at bay, you’ll be able to focus on the things that really matter to you right now. You are ready to heal, and you need to do it in a safe space.
Let’s connect!
My name is Rina (she, her, hers), and I am a part of the community. I help LGBTQ+ folks feel at home when they are in therapy. I have been helping LGBTQ+ people at different stages of the coming out process. I also have worked with LGBTQ+ couples on their relationships.
Therapy with me
My approach is friendly, direct, and honest. In therapy with me, you will cry and laugh as we walk the path of discovery and affirmation. We will talk about your pain and explore how to address real life challenges with a thoughtful problem-solving approach. I recognize that each of us operates in a context that includes their life circumstances, background, culture, family and friends. We will work to understand this context and consider it in our work together. I have no agenda as to the end-goal of your journey, or the pace of change, if there is change. I am merely interested in what you want, and if you are not sure what that is, I can help you explore that. As a result of therapy with me, you will feel heard, seen, and appreciated for the wonderful person you are. You may be able to peel off years of internalized rejection and criticism. You’ll feel lighter, more comfortable in being YOU.
